  • 31 May 2023 - On May 27th, Hawa Ahmed YOUSSOUF, head of the MINUSMA regional office in Gao, handed over the keys to two classrooms, each capable of accommodating 50 students, to local authorities. These classrooms were built by Chinese peacekeepers at Salibou Nadia School in Gao and the primary school in the village of Edang, located 6 kilometers away from the city.

  • 12 May 2023 - GENEVA (12 May 2023) – A fact-finding report from the UN Human Rights Office has concluded there are strong indications that more than 500 people were killed – the vast majority summarily executed – by Malian troops and foreign military personnel during a five-day military operation in the village of Moura in the Mopti region of central Mali in March 2022.
  • 10 May 2023 - From May 2 to 3, an intra-community dialogue was organized in Ménaka town, North of Mali, between the Daoussahack community and specifically between the Idoguiritanes of Tinabaw and the Idoguiritanes of Infourkaretane. The aim of the dialogue was to mediate the two conflicting parties and put an end to recurring clashes that have been going on for the past ten years.

  • 22 Apr 2023 - Bamako, April 22, 2023 - MINUSMA strongly condemns the April 22 attacks on the Malian Armed Forces (FAMa) camp in Sévaré and the nearby car bombings that killed and injured civilians, including internally displaced persons (IDPs) living in the Serema site.  Shots were also fired toward the MINUSMA camp.
  • 09 Apr 2023 - On Friday, April 7, 2023, and in line with the commitment made at its March 13 meeting, the International Mediation presented to the signatory Parties concrete proposals aimed at relaunching the implementation of the Agreement for Peace and Reconciliation resulting from the Algiers Process.
  • 05 Apr 2023 - Bamako, April 5, 2023 - MINUSMA is closely following developments in the northern regions of Mali and is concerned about the rising tensions between signatory parties. It reiterates the call made by the International Mediation at its meeting of March 13, 2023, for the parties to exercise utmost restraint to facilitate the ongoing efforts to relaunch the implementation process of the Peace Agreement.
  • 07 Mar 2023 - The Medina Art Gallery in Bamako is currently showcasing an exhibition of photographs entitled “Resilient Women” that celebrates the bravery and resilience of women in Mali. The exhibition was launched on March 7th as a prelude to International Women's Day. It features 30 portraits of women from various parts of Mali, including Menaka, Timbuktu, Mopti, Kidal, Gao, and Bamako.
  • 22 Feb 2023 - The members of the Security Council condemned in the strongest terms the attack perpetrated against the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) on 21 February near the village of Songobia, southwest of the town of Bandiagara, following which three peacekeepers from Senegal were killed and five others injured.
