08 Feb 2023 - The Secretary-General deeply regrets that, on 5 February, the transitional Government of Mali declared the Director of the Human Rights Division of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA), and representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, as persona non grata.
06 Feb 2023 - The United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) has been informed by the Malian authorities of their decision to ask the Director of the Mission's Human Rights Division and representative of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Mr. Guillaume Ngefa, to leave the country. It deeply regrets this decision.
06 Feb 2023 - On January 17, 2023, in Gao, Radio Naata celebrated the reopening of its broadcasting studio in its courtyard, at the foot of the mast of its transmitter. In August 2022, a fire had destroyed all the technical equipment of the station, following a short circuit. After the station burned down five months ago, the residents of the city of Gao launched an initiative under the patronage of the governor to raise funds for its reconstruction.
26 Jan 2023 - Bamako, 25 January 2023 - The trial relating to the attack on five peacekeepers on the road to Siby (near Bamako) on 22 February 2019, which led to the death of three of them, took place before the Bamako Court of Assizes sitting in terrorism matters on 24 January.

21 Dec 2022 - One-hundred and ten members of the 3rd Egyptian Combat Convoy Company were awarded the United Nations medal on 20 December 2022, as a tangible recognition of the peacekeepers’ efforts and achievements.
16 Dec 2022 - Bamako, December 16, 2022 - Today, unidentified armed men opened fire on a United Nations Police (UNPOL) patrol in Timbuktu town. The attack left two Peacekeepers’ dead, including a woman. Four other peacekeepers were injured, one of them seriously. They are currently receiving appropriate care at the MINUSMA military hospital in Timbuktu.
14 Dec 2022 - 329 Bangladeshi Peacekeepers and 49 MINUSMA Police Officers received the United Nations Medal on 28 and 30 November in Goundam (Timbuktu region) and Bamako respectively.
27 Oct 2022 - Members of the Cambodian civil engineering company serving with MINUSMA in Kidal were awarded the United Nations medal of honor on October 7, 2022. The 150 peacekeepers in this company are part of the eight detachments of the Cambodian contingent. They have been deployed in Kidal, with an outpost unit in Tessalit, since October 2021.
