A MINUSMA Vehicle Hits a Mine: Seven Peacekeepers Injured

At around 1:30 p.m. yesterday afternoon, a MINUSMA vehicle hit a mine in the vicinity of Anefis, Kidal region, while escorting a convoy of subcontractors of the Mission.

Seven peacekeepers were injured in the explosion, six of them seriously. All of them were immediately evacuated to receive appropriate medical care and MINUSMA forces secured the site.

MINUSMA strongly condemns this terrorist act which aims to paralyze the Mission’s operations in this part of Mali and thwart all efforts currently underway to achieve lasting peace in Mali.

MINUSMA wishes a speedy recovery to the injured.
