Bamako, 8 September 2014 - A civilian vehicle struck an improvised explosive device (IED) near Aguelhok in the region of Kidal on Saturday morning.
According to a preliminary toll, one person was killed by the explosion and several others were injured, three of them seriously.
The SRSG accompanied the President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania and current chairman of the African Union, H.E.M Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, during his visit to Kidal. Transportation was provided by MINUSMA.

The Malian government and Malian armed groups have today continued informal discussions on the preparation for a future process of Cantonment. This follows a seminar on Cantonments that was facilitated at the beginning of last week by MINUSMA, and was attended by the international community.
