Mines: Two Peacekeepers Seriously Injured

This morning, a MINUSMA vehicle that was escorting a logistics convoy struck a mine or explosive device on the road between Ansongo and Ménaka, 70 km east of Ansongo.

The explosion destroyed the vehicle and seriously injured two MINUSMA soldiers, whose medical evacuation is underway.

MINUSMA strongly condemns such acts aiming to paralyze the Mission’s operations in Mali and to indiscriminately harm United Nations personnel or innocent civilians.
