09 Dec 2023 - Bamako, December 8, 2023 - MINUSMA today closed its camp in Sevare, Mopti region, marking the end of its presence in the central regions of Mali. The closure, which follows the closure of the Ogossagou and Douentza bases, also in central Mali, is part of the second phase of the Mission's drawdown. The last remaining Mission personnel, both civilian and military, left the Sevare camp this afternoon.

This closure represents the ninth of twelve mission camps to cease operations, as part of the second phase of MINUSMA’s withdrawal plan, paving the way for its final departure on December 31, 2023.
31 Oct 2023 - Bamako, October 31, 2023 - MINUSMA ended its presence in the Kidal region today, following the departure of its last personnel by air and land convoy.
The last convoy of peacekeepers left Kidal by road this morning for Gao, and unfortunately suffered two IED attacks on the way, causing material damage.
