  • 19 Jun 2015 - MINUSMA congratulates the movements of the Plateforme on their decision, announced yesterday evening, to withdraw from the town of Ménaka, in the Gao region, in accordance with the “Arrangement Sécuritaire pour une Cessation des Hostilités” (“Security Arrangement for a Cessation of Hostilities”) signed in Algiers on 5 June 2015.  
  • 11 Jun 2015 - MINUSMA strongly condemns the cowardly terrorist attack against the Malian military and security posts in Misséni, in the “cercle” of Kadiolo, in the south of Mali. One member of the Malian Armed Forces was killed and two were wounded in the attack, which took place in the early morning yesterday, 10 June. There was also material damage.
  • 28 May 2015 - A MINUSMA convoy struck a mine on the road between Teherdge and Timbuktu at around 1 p.m. today. Three peacekeepers were injured in the explosion. MINUSMA is evacuating them to receive appropriate medical care. MINUSMA strongly condemns this terrorist act, which aims to paralyze the Mission’s operations in this part of Mali. Mines in Mali affect both the personnel of the United Nations and innocent civilians, without distinction.
  • 26 May 2015 - An incident involving a MINUSMA vehicle took place near the Bamako airport yesterday evening at around 7:30 p.m.   One peacekeeper was wounded, while another died of his injuries.   The investigation currently underway will allow MINUSMA to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.   MINUSMA extends its condolences to the family of the deceased and wishes a speedy recovery to the peacekeeper who was injured.​      
  • 22 May 2015 - The MINUSMA camp in Ber was targeted by a dozen shells shortly after 3 p.m. today. This attack occurred at the same time as a delegation consisting of civilian personnel of the Mission, accompanied by representatives of the local authorities and civil society, was present for the release of 10 persons who had been held by the Coordination. The attack caused no casualties and the release of the detainees could be carried out under the protection of the MINUSMA Force.
  • 22 May 2015 - MINUSMA has received worrying reports of serious violations of human rights and international humanitarian law in the village of Tin-Hamma in the Gao region, including the execution yesterday of a number of civilians, which may include a person working for an international NGO. These violations follow clashes between members of the Plateform and the Coordination des Mouvements de l’Azawad (CMA) on 20 May.
  • 19 May 2015 - MINUSMA deplores the increase in violence in several locations in the regions in northern Mali. In response to this situation, MINUSMA has intensified its efforts and its contacts with all stakeholders to restore calm and advance the peace process.
  • 19 May 2015 - On 18 May, armed men attacked a FAMa checkpoint on the road between Timbuktu and Douentza. Three soldiers of the Malian Armed Forces were killed, while one other and a civilian were injured during this attack. MINUSMA extends its condolences to the families of the victims and to the Malian authorities.
  • 16 May 2015 - The Secretary-General welcomes the signature of the Agreement for Peace and Reconciliation in Mali by the Government of Mali and the Plateforme coalition of armed groups in Bamako today.  He congratulates the parties and the Algeria-led Mediation Team for their efforts to produce this balanced text.
  • 14 May 2015 - Bamako, 14 May 2015 - The Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of MINUSMA, Mr. Mongi Hamdi, has said he feels encouraged by the initialling of the Peace and National Reconciliation Agreement by the Coordination des Mouvements de l’Azawad (CMA) in Algiers today.
