  • 20 Mar 2015 - Bamako/Geneva - 20 March 2015 :  The United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) and the Office of the High-Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) publish Friday their first joint public report on the situation of human rights in Mali. The report documents  gross violations and abuses of international human rights and international humanitarian law committed in Mali between 1 November 2013 and 31 May 2014.   
  • 17 Mar 2015 - At around 1 p.m. today, an Apache attack helicopter of MINUSMA had to make a hard landing about 42 kilometres north of Gao (in northern Mali). The two crew members lost their lives in this accident, which took place during an exercise conducted by MINUSMA’s Dutch contingent in this area.   A medical team was immediately deployed to the site of the accident, but was not able to save the helicopter’s crew.

    10 Mar 2015 - Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of MINUSMA Meets President of Niger 
  • 08 Mar 2015 - At around 5:40 this morning, the MINUSMA compound in Kidal was targeted by a complex attack involving more than 30 rockets and shells. Once they had established from where the rockets were being fired, MINUSMA troops immediately returned fire 2 kilometers from the compound, at around 6 a.m.  
  • 07 Mar 2015 - The Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of MINUSMA, Mr. Mongi Hamdi, condemns in the strongest possible terms the deadly attack that took place at a Bamako restaurant at around 1 a.m. this morning.  
  • 12 Feb 2015 - Two workshops on Reflection will be held on the 13th of February in Bamako, with the aim of relaunching political dialogue in Mali. The Government and Malian armed groups, accompanied by the international community, and social and civil experts will meet to tackle diverse topics. These worksops also respond to the demands of members of the Security Council  and with the goal to prepare an inclusive political dialogue with clear dates stipulated as soon as possible.
  • 20 Jan 2015 - This afternoon, MINUSMA was constrained to use force in order to protect UN-soldiers based in Tabankort, around 200 km north of Gao. Confronted with shootings from heavy weapons in their direction, MINUSMA Peacekeepers were under imminent threat.   This reaction by MINUSMA forces is supported by the mission’s mandate, which authorizes the use of force to protect civilians, UN-staff and UN-premises in case of an attack or an imminent threat.  
  • 14 Sep 2014 - 14 September - The members of the Security Council condemned in the strongest terms the attack on a military vehicle in the vicinity of Aguelok, Mali, on 14 September 2014, in which one Chadian peacekeeper of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) was killed and four other peacekeepers were injured.  
  • 13 Sep 2014 - Algiers, 13 September 2014 - The Special Representative of the Secretary-General and head of MINUSMA, Mr. Albert Koenders, is encouraged by the constructive discussions and recommendationsmade by the civil society and community representatives, in Algiers, during the second phase of the negotiations between the government of Mali and the armed movements.  
  • 23 May 2014 - The SRSG accompanied the President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania and current chairman of the African Union, H.E.M Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, during his visit to Kidal. Transportation was provided by MINUSMA. During the visit, they held discussions with the armed movements and the aménokal.
